This felt mousepad is an easy and fun project. I think they would make great gifts too.
You will need
1 piece of thick wool felt (I used Margo’s Pink)
1 9″ x 12″ sheet of white wool blend felt plus scrap for monogram
1 hole punch
Thread to match wool and monogram
Felt glue (optional)
Scalloped base and rectangle template below
Step 1: Print your monogram. Choose a font and print out the initial so it fits into a 3″ x 3″ space.
See Andies Method for cutting felt for tips on cutting small or complicated bits of felt by hand.
Cut a rectangle of thick wool felt.
Step 2: Stitch letter onto your thick wool felt sheet. I found a running stitch provided the smoothest surface. I have been using this mousepad for over a month now and havent had any issues with the mouse jumping.
Step 3: Cut your scalloped rectangle out of wool blend felt and hole punch the center of each scallop
* this will not work with acrylic felt and if your punch is dull you may have to cut the bottom of each punched hole loose.
Step 4: Attach rectangle to scalloped backing using a running stitch or felt glue.
Step 5: Ohh and AHH over your handiwork…it even makes my work table look nice!
Happy Crafting

This is adorable! And you did an amazing job, especially considering felt can be extremely hard to cut. 😛
